Drumming Workshop with Jeff Rich (Status Quo)
Mon 24 Jan 2022Ex-Status Quo drummer Jeff Rich headed up the drum and percussion workshop for pupils at Farley Junior Academy. The star put budding musicians through their paces with demonstrations on his kit as well as chatting about his life on the road with Status Quo.
Pupils were also treated to a history of the drum and learned how technological changes through the centuries led from animal skins being stretched out over hollow logs to modern plastic skinned drums.
As a finale some children had the opportunity to join Jeff on selected percussion instruments and there was a question and answer session during which youngsters quizzed Jeff about drums and the music business. It was thoroughly enjoyable and interesting workshop. All the pupils loved it!
